We have been here several times and have always had a fantastic meal! The servers are very knowledgeable about the food and drink menus, and although we have had several different servers, the level of service has never slipped. I love the cowboy salad and the ribs have that perfect smokey flavor that is just on point every time we order them. This is a great place to eat whether you are a local, or on vacation looking for a wonderful meal and a fun atmosphere!

Service was not good, took about 25 minutes to get four chicken tenders as an appetizer. Waitress never even came by once other than to give us our drinks. Had high hopes but won't be coming here again.

Not the best bbq we've ever had, but certainly somewhere in the middle. I had the three meat combo and Mac n cheese. That Mac and cheese was seriously legit, better than any I've had in a long time. The slice of Texas toast that accompanied the meat was cool and very untoasted. The meat was so-so. The brisket was dry, the ribs were the best part. Large glasses for iced tea and soda, we arrived in the afternoon so there wasn't a wait for our food. I don't know, my neighbor raved and raved about this food but it was just okay...I know bbq is a difficult thing to get right but sheesh....don't make it so dry!

The service was definitely worth the wait. (45 minutes) (Read a review about a waiter named Keagan, he was as good as advertised.) Unfortunately I wish I could say the same for the food. First, the portions sizes were incredibly small! Ordered smoked meatloaf. Liquid salt gravy topped on a 5 oz (being VERY generous on that) slab of what they called meatloaf. Tasted nothing of what you would consider meatloaf. The meat was grounded to fine thus giving a texture taste nowhere near the idea of meatloaf. Major flaw. Reminded me much of the dreaded hockey puck meatloaf. This was all on top of one slice of wonder bread with an ice scoop of mashed potatoes. The entire meal was finished in eight bites, max. The sweet potato fries were soggy and had zero seasoning on them. The other oder placed was the 6 pepper steak po boy. First problem, zero peppers. If they were referring to seasoning, there was none. Meat was tender with a very mild smokey taste. Also finished in about eight bites. Not sure why this was considered a house special, extremely ordinary in taste. Served again with an ice scoop of mashed potatoes with chicken gravy that was overly salty. Service was better than already expected. Anticipated needs and was very informative on menu entree inquiries. Best service in a very long time. Managers, please give him a raise!

The drinks were decent and the six wings would have been good if they were hot. 45 minutes after we ordered them we asked the bartender to check on them. Went back and said they're really busy but will be right out. When they came out they were luke warm. Meaning they had been sitting out but he popped them in the microwave for a minute. Maybe they were just busy but didn't excuse the nasty mess in the kitchen that everyone in the bar seemed to want to walk right by without noticing. Could be great maybe we caught them on a bad night.

We arrived shortly after open with a group of 10 and immediately got a seat. Our server was quick and got everything right. Food was good, I got the nachos and Texas fries. My sister had the wings and ribs and loved the wings but said the ribs were just ok. Onion rings were excellent and huge. Again, good food, good service, but nothing overly exciting!

Was highly recommended by several people. Large menu options and large portions. Very, very loud inside. Good service. Our food was just OK and one of us was ill immediately following eating but someone else had the same item so it's hard to say if it was the food but was similar to a food reaction.

  • Holly A.

It was ok. Nothing special. Waitress was good, food not so much. Wouldn't go outta my way to go again, but would not go if someone really wanted to go. Margarita had pepper in it or something... Maybe dirt. It was weird. Sent it back.

After living in KC and previously in Texas, this place is just ok. Service was pretty good for it bring a busy Saturday night. Fries were cold and tasteless. I had the turkey and sausage combo sandwich and it was decent. My wife had the wings with the house sauce and they weren't our thing. We even ended up leaving 3 wings on the plate which is sac-relig in my book. The place was pretty expensive too so if you're in need of BBQ, it will do in a pinch.

  • Liz S.

Very nice staff and decent food. We would defiantly go back the atmosphere was fun and lively. Lots of beers on tap. The place was packed, but we had great service and a good time.

Always great food and great service!!!! One of the best BBQ places on the planet! Try the wings, BBQ nachos and wrangler wrap you won't be disappointed.

We went in to eat and honestly it was so loud we did not stay. I supposed if you are there with a family that is trying to talk over each other, then its okay. I think its so loud because its a very large space with tall ceilings, all wood, no other noise absorbing materials. If you want to talk you have to yell, and thats not how I want to spend my evenings, especially when spending a lot of money.

  • Eleni B.

Service was great. The sweet tea is great and the original wings are a must have! I had the pulled pork and sweet potato fries and a side of Mac and cheese. Stick with the Mac and cheese. Super good! They're be comes wet so ask for it dry if you want that and the bbq sauce needs updating. It's bland. Very vinegary. The boyfriend had the smoked ham and it was great! I wanted more wings! We left s generous tip to the waitress because she was so nice and even gave us to go cups full of that awesome sweet tea! We will be going again.

Look I don't like giving bad reviews but this place has all the cool gimmicks-decor and booze. Staff was nice. In all fairness we have tried it twice. The truth the food doesn't live up to the hype. For price verse quantity and quality not good. Our last visit we ordered chicken nachos out came this little plate maybe 15 to 20 small soggy chips I get they put BBQ beans on them but who wants soggy nachos. The pulled pork sandwhich wasn't very big and not any smoke taste. I can't put my finger on it but the food seems to be put together with pre made processed items.

We found Wobbly Boots after scouring through the Yelp reviews of local eateries. The reviews were solid and the descriptions of their menu lured us in. I had the Gigantic Chicken Fried Pork Tenderloin and it was sooo good. Loved the gravy, mashed potato's and everything about it. So much so I paid very little attention to my husband's Rueben. He seemed to enjoy his meal as much as I enjoyed mine. Neither of us have been so quiet at a meal. Lol - Truly Delightful Food. Too bad we don't have one out in the O.C.!

Went here over Labor Day weekend, and felt great about the choice. I've been spoiled with great barbecue, and Wobbly Boots makes a respectable showing. You'd expect a place in this area to be touristy and dull, but the food was solid: we tried the prime rib sandwich, pulled pork, brisket, and a few sides. The place was busy, but we had good service, which is the great sign of a well-run establishment. I also liked that they had a stage for live music - you can definitely have a good night out here. For the area, this seems like a great option.

We love barbeque but this place was so average and over priced. $24.99 for chicken & rib plate with one side and some buttered toast. Long wait for food too. Sorry. It's supposed to be the best in the area. We travel and enjoy trying local spots not found elsewhere. This isn't worth it.

Our new favorite restaurant at the lake! we've had the brisket, the smoked ham, and the 6 pepper steak po boy. All were awesome!!!! Had the wings tonight, Wow!

  • Susan M.

Fun, kid friendly atmosphere. Wide variety of choices. Food was all good and portions were huge. Definitely a place we will return to next time we are at the lake.

This place is my favorite at the lake of the ozarks, especially with the new location but sadly not on the lake. I have not had any complaints with this place or with the food. BBQ is awesome.

  • Kele G.

Average food. Good service. If you don't like iceberg lettuce, don't order the salads. Wow. Nothing stood out here I'm sorry to say as it came highly recommended. I ordered the brisket sandwich and wasn't impressed with the amount of food for the price. My daughter's kids meal was the best thing on the table. Pulled pork was moist. One type of bbq sauce, kind of vinegar-y. The atmosphere was kinda cool though. Roadhouse loud. Probably a great place to drink with friends and eat appetizers, but we went for lunch.

  • Nathaniel H.

This food did not even come close to what I would have considered "award winning". The crab stuffed mushrooms were pretty good. The brisket and pork had a good smoke flavor, but definitely wasn't the best. They only had one type of BBQ sauce. I guess they assume that everyone likes the same tastes. The service was okay, however being the only customers in the entire restaurant, was a little on the slow side.

Wings are outstanding...bacon wrapped shrimp always a hit...the Turkey Reuben is one if the best sandwiches at the lake...service is always very good too...

One of my favorite places to get hot wings! Their smoked hot wings are amazing and highly recommended! The restaurant has done a great job with their new larger location and the service is still excellent. Between the pulled pork, brisket, and all their other BBQ, I don't think you can go wrong! Also get their baked beans---it will not disappoint.

Very good barbecue. Wait time was about 20 minutes on a Tuesday night. Service was very good. Wife got meatloaf which she said had a nice smoky flavor to it. Only critique was to disregard the slice of wonder bread under the meatloaf and a bit more gravy. Daughter loved her potato soup and filled up so much that didnt eat much of the turkey melt. Half slab of baby backs didnt last long in front of me. They were tender and very good. Cheesy corn is like a "corn on the cob cheesy corn" and definitely not frozen corn. Very good. We all agreed that we would definitely eat there again!

Very good bbq! The flavor was great! The texas cheese fries were great as well. They have plenty of beers on tap and not just your standard stuff. The service was the only peice that left something to be desired. They were very busy which is understandable but the wait staff seemed to not be able to handle the stress and that came across to the customers. Overall, I would definately go back.

So glad we came! It was absolutely wonderful. The pork nachos were to die for. I would recommend this play to anyone. Our server was super nice and checked on us regularly. Even at 230 on a Wednesday the place was full, but our wait was short.

A comfy roadhouse restaurant that's bigger than it looks from the outside with a very large menu and something for everyone (except our vegetarian). We tried the pulled pork sandwich (excellent), ribs ( not as tender as we like) burger (very good) and turkey avocado wrap (decent). All come with a choice of thin curly fries (great) or huge onion rings-4 to an order. Pork was the favorite and you can add your tasty sauce. Order it "southern style" if you want coleslaw on top.

  • Donna H.

Went there last night for dinner. There were 10 of us. Started out with the onion rings and Texas fries. Both were awesome. The bartender did a fabulous job with our drinks. Keegan was our waiter and was very attentive and made good recommendations. Pork tenderloin and Reuben sandwich were outstanding. Will definitely go back on future vacations to the Ozarks.

  • Andrea J.

Had a late dinner on a Wednesday night. So happy with our choice. Husband ordered the baby back ribs and they fell right off the bone. I ordered the app that had pork spare ribs and wings. The ribs were tender but you had to work a little harder to get the meat off the bone. I LOVED the wings, I am a picky wing eater and the original sauce is a spicy sweet mustard flavor...DELish is all I can say. Next time I would skip the ribs and go with wings, they werent slimy at all just tender and good.

My wife and I had lunch here on Sunday. The place was slammed with guests, but we were seated quickly at the bar. Service was not fast, but reasonable. The bartender was very attentive. He filled our waters several times. The bar also had about 10 beers on tap. I ordered a smoked salmon wrap with coleslaw. The salmon warp was great and the coleslaw was good. My wife ordered pulled pork with sweet potato fries. Both of those were great. The atmosphere is casual country. This used to be a Shoney's, but you would never know it after a great remodel. The quality of this operation is more professional than what is found at The Lake of the Ozarks in general with well trained staff, great food and clean facility. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a very nice casual dining experience with no view of the lake. The same family also owns Dawg Days which is a great water front bar and restaurant if you want a water front experience.

We came to this place for lunch because of the awesome reviews of this place and boy oh boy, everyone else must of read them too because it was crowded! They are expanding to a whole new building next door. This is definitely set up not-so-kid-friendly because most of the tables are high tables. I was super nervous about my daughter sitting up there. There was no way I would stick her in a booster seat. I barely could get on these stools and I'm 5'3. My daughter ordered the kids Mac and Cheese. It was quite possibly the cheesiest and fresh Mac I've had in years, if not ever! So good. I ordered the smoked meatloaf lunch special which came with mashed potatoes and gravy and fresh green beans. The smoked meatloaf did have a smoky flavor and it was crispy on the outside (almost like it was deep fried or flash fried). It had gravy on top. Too much gravy and I thought the gravy wasn't very good. My favorite part was the fresh green beans with ham hock. They tasted like they were fresh outta grandma's garden. I would definitely try this place again when it expands and also something else on the menu.

Came with coworkers for lunch. One of whom is vegetarian. Good thing she eats cheese, other wise there would be NOTHING her for her to eat. She was stuck with plain garden salad or grilled cheese. We did get the onion rings (humongous and soooo good). Us meat eaters were in heaven! Great sandwich / wrap selection. Good lunch specials.

  • Al D.

Great wings, the best I've had at the lake. I get the original smoked wings with mustard bbq sauce on the side. I've had the pulled pork wrap and a burger before which were also pretty good but the wings are the real draw. Rum runner mix wasn't bad but stronger then I even expected. Service was good and the new bigger building that they're in is a great trade to the old 'filling station' building.

A former Shoney's that's been very nicely tranformed into a fun and comofotable BBQ restaurant. The service for us was excellent - attentive and friendly. There is a nice selection of draft beers and a bunch of TV's all around. If you arrive late enough in the evening, there's also live music. We didn't stick around to see what kind of music, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't country or classic rock. Defintely a cool place to hang out and hear some live music. It's nice when the under-18 crowd has a place for this, so kudos for that. So that's my review of Wobbly Boo....oh... the food? Yes, there was food as well. They cook barbeque here. At least I think it's cooked here. The turkey and brisked we tried could have been cooked at the Oscar Mayer plant in Chillicothe for all I know. Who serves their smoked meats deli-sliced? And why? Okay, I'll admit the quality was higher than your standard grocer's deli, but not a lot. The brisket was actually pretty dry and hard to eat. It's a very rare occasion when I don't finish the meat on my plate, this was one of those times. A side of green beans was extremely buttery, to the point where they were barely edible. My MIL tried the turkey burger and said it wasn't good. I believe her. On the plus side, the pulled pork was good. Not great - maybe Friday's quality - but perfectly edible. Our daughter's chicken strips were actually very good - maybe the best I've had. We might just come back for the chicken tenders or a fried chicken sandwich, which isn't saying a lot for a place that specializes in barbeque. They really did a nice job fixing this place up, though, and I definitely support it for chicken, cold beer and...probably country or classic rock music, if that's your thing. We might come back sometime and try a different kind of sandwich. I'll give 2 1/2 stars.

The food was awesome. Friendly staff awesome drinks from the bar. Highly recommend you try this place out!!! I had the trio and onion rings I was barely able to finish it. And I can put away some food. I think we will have lunch there tomorrow!!! Thanks you guys rock!!!

HOLY CRAP I was not expecting this! Wobbly Boots is like... BBQ heaven! I'm not a person who likes trying other BBQ places because I'm a bit stuck on Rudy's and County Line in Austin, but DANG this place was fantastic! We were looking for a place that was open kind of late, and this place was hoppin around 9:15. We had to wait for about 20 minutes because it was so packed (it was a Friday night). I had happy feelings as soon as I walked up because I could smell the smoky goodness before I opened the door... nice! Our waitress was speedy and smiled at us. good :) I loved trying a variety of things so my boyfriend and I each ordered the Try Two plate, he ordered the ham and brisket and I got the turkey and pulled pork. The pulled pork is out of this world. It's so tender and flavored an incredible amount- it's almost insulting to put sauce on it but the sauce is great too! but really, try the pulled pork, it was my favorite and SO GOOD The brisket, ham, and turkey were also very good. My smashed potatoes were so unique!!! I was expecting normal, amazing, garlicy mashed potatoes but these were even better! The gravy was like... so so SO good! It had a little bite to it and bits of meat in it as well. Darn it was so good! The only sad thing about this place is it's not in Austin... go Wobbly Boots!

Went because of all the wonderful reviews. Got there about 2:30, place was busy. Got our drinks right away but after that service was slow. Took awhile to order then get our food. Family of 5 - all got sandwiches. I got the prime rib melt...wasn't piled high...more like a grilled cheese, it did melt in my mouth though. All of our fries were warm, not hot and a little hard. Hubby's pulled pork was dry but good. Burger, Cristo & grilled chicken wrap was all great (per kids). Good food otherwise. Would be willing to give a 2nd chance. Family of 5 cost us $57 + tip.

Great food, fast service and all for a good price. If you like BBQ this a place you want to visit.

Wobbly Boots was not what I expected. First of all, I find the restaurant choices at the Lake to be a little wanting, so my expectations were pretty low to begin with. Secondly, from the road, this place doesn't look like much. But when you walk up to the door, you can smell the smoke. And it smells good. The inside is cleaner and nicer than I expected. They allow smoking, but there is a non-smoking section that is off to the side of the bar. The food was good, too. I got the open faced smoked turkey sandwich with "smashed" potatoes and green beans. The turkey was in fact quite smokey. The smashed potatoes were house made and really delicious. I also tasted the pulled pork and curly fries, and they were really good, too. This isn't the best bbq I've ever had, but it's pretty good. And given your other options at the Lake, I would happily eat here again.
